I chose Essex because of the way the program is set up and what could be offered . I feel like I’ll be able to elevate my game especially with the guys we have. We all want to win and push each other to be better.

Guard

The 6’4” guard/winger played for Bristol Flyers Academy in NBL Division 2 last season where he amassed an exceptional average of 17.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, as well as shooting 45.3% in field goal percentage. These impressive statistics led to him being awarded the Bristol Flyer’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at the end of the season.

Ekwegh was also an integral player in helping the UWE Jets make it to the BUCS Men’s Championship Final in March, where they narrowly lost to Loughborough Riders 86-75.

The 24-year-old will be confident of making the step up to NBL Division 1, making him another exciting and valuable addition to the team as Coach Norfolk prepares for the upcoming season.
