Junior Teams
The Essex Rebels is a big family formed of numerous teams from men’s, women’s and multiple junior teams.
Under 18’s Men
This is the pinnacle of the clubs pathway, and one of the most exciting junior teams, along with being the longest running junior team that has had a huge amount of success over the years.
Currently competing in the Junior NBL East Conference league for the 2022/23 season.
The Under 18 Men’s team is coached by Coach Ellis.
We are all excited to see this team in action!

Under 16 Boys 1st team
This age group and team, led by coach Dave Girling, is one of the clubs longest running teams. It has served as a platform for a number of highly successful junior national league players that have had the opportunity to not only represent the east region, but who have also represented their country. The U16’s have had great success by way of results over the years and continue to be one of the clubs shining lights in the east region.
Currently competing in the Junior NBL East 2 Conference league for the 2022/23 season.

Under 16 Boys 2nd team
The under 16’s second team was set up in 2019 due to the large amount of interest we had received during the time of trials for this age group. Because of the numbers and the talent at this age, we felt it would be appropriate to create a second team that would allow players to compete and continue to develop within the club pathway.
Currently competing in the Junior NBL East 2 Conference league for the 2022/23 season.
The Under 16 Boys 2nd team is coached by Shane Qin.

Under 14 Girls
The under 14 girls team have entered their first ever season of national league basketball. Popularity in the women’s game has increased incredibly due to the success of the Essex Rebels senior women’s team who have been competing in the WBBL for the last three seasons, serving as great role models and ambassadors for female sport. We are very proud to be providing a platform for these young players and hope that we can continue to build and develop a pathway.
Currently competing in the Junior NBL East 1 league for the 2022/23 season.
The Under 14 Girls team is coached by Liv Patridge.
Under 14 Boys
The under 14’s Boys team was created due to the enormous amount of participation we saw through our Hoopsters community program, and felt it would help us create a stronger pathway.
Currently competing in the Junior NBL East 2 Conference league for the 2022/23 season.
The Under 14 Boys team is currently coached by Dave Girling.
