
Junior Club Teams
The Essex Rebels is a big family formed of numerous teams from men’s, women’s and multiple junior basketball teams.

Under 18’s Men
This is the pinnacle of the clubs pathway, and one of the most exciting junior teams, along with being the longest running junior team that has had a huge amount of success over the years.
Currently competing in the Junior NBL East Conference league for the 2025/26 season.
The Under 18 Men’s team is coached by Damian Mlynarczyk.
Damian joined us this season and comes with years of experience across all age groups. He grew up in Poland, where he began his basketball journey as a player in junior leagues. After moving to the UK, he continued playing basketball and eventually transitioned to coaching
Additionally, he coached Essex County Teams. He also worked for the England Basketball Federation for 3 years as a coach in the East Aspire program, working with players from our region. He also regularly coaches some major summer camps across Europe and since joining has already taken 45 of our players to European tournaments hosted by his contacts in Poland.
Outside of basketball, Damian graduated in Computer Science and has worked at Stansted Airport for the past 16 years. Damian is also a devoted husband and father of two daughters, balancing his passion for basketball with his family life.
We are all excited to see this team in action in the 2025/26 season.

Under 18’s Women
This is a brand new team to our programme and completes the age groups for both boys and girls and leads them in to their senior opportunities.
Coached by Jordan Ashley, our club coordinator and ex D1 player of Essex Rebels 2024/25 season. MVP multiple times throughout his playing career Jordan is fully committed to the club and making this first season a success for our girls. Strengthening and promoting women’s sport and the growth of basketball in England.

Under 16 Boys
This age group and team, led by coach Aaron Tucker, is one of the clubs longest running teams. It has served as a platform for a number of highly successful junior national league players that have had the opportunity to not only represent the east region, but who have also represented their country. The U16’s have had great success by way of results over the years and continue to be one of the clubs shining lights in the east region.
The Under 16 Boys had a fantastic 2024/2025 and are currently competing in the Junior NBL East 2 Conference league for the 2025/26 season.

Under 16 Girls
The under 16 girls’ team are looking to build on their 2024/2025 season and coach Hayley Rigby is committed to developing the team further.
Women’s basketball continues to go from strength to strength at Essex Rebels, as the Essex Rebels WBBL Women’s team continues to inspire our young girls to get involved.
Currently competing in the Junior NBL South East Conference 2025/26 season
We look forward to seeing what can be achieved this season.

Under 14 Boys
The under 14’s Boys team has strengthened our developmental pathway, and was created due to the enormous amount of participation we saw through our Hoopsters community program.
With a fantastic season last year, this year’s focus is on developing the team, further. We are delighted that coach Megan Haines, who was named the Women’s British Basketball League Most Improved Player (MIP) of the 2023/2024 season, continues with us as the under 14 boys coach.
Currently competing in the Junior NBL East 2 Conference league for the 2025/26 season.

Under 14 Girls
This age group is coached by Essex Rebels BCB men’s coach, Joe Hart, and the team is focused on improving on the fantastic season they had last year.
Joe joins our team with a wealth of experience. He has played professionally for over 12 years, representing Great Britain at a senior level. He has been the assistant coach of a BBL team and this summer assisted the under 16 boys Great Britain team.
This season, the team welcomes a number of new players from our Hoopsters programme, with more and more young girls wanting to play competitively.
We look forward to seeing their progress this season.
The under 14 girls play in the East Conference league.

Under 12 mixed team
Rebels Junior Head Coach Jules Keeling continues to coach our under 12 mixed team for their third season. The team enjoyed success in their second season, it was another fantastic season with a lot of new players coming through. Development of our youngest players through Hoopsters and camps is so important to the success of this team and our hard work is really paying off.
We are excited to see how the team fairs this season with another group of new players to develop.
The under 12 mixed team plays in Region V.

History has been made… now it’s PLAYOFF TIME!! The Essex Rebels women secured 3rd place, our highest-ever finish in Super League Basketball — and with it, a major milestone: our first home playoff game.
This Saturday, 2 May, we host the London Lions at the Essex Sport Arena in a win-or-go-home Quarter Final, with a place in the next round — and a step closer to the O2 Arena — at stake.
