ERJBC

Essex Rebels Junior Basketball Club empowers young people to excel in basketball and in life.

About ERJBC

Founded in April 2019, and part of the wider Essex Rebels family (the WBBL Women’s team, the NBL Division I Men’s team, and the NBL Division III Men’s team), Essex Rebels Junior Basketball Club is a nonprofit organisation that empowers young people to excel in basketball and in life.

Through our comprehensive basketball programme and our highly experienced team of volunteer coaches, we develop character and life skills in young people and help build a community together that reinforces these skills on and off the court!

Built on five core principles (teamwork, character development, discipline, respect and sportsmanship), and primarily focussed on exposing players to a higher level of competition (participation in the National Basketball League) while developing fundamental basketball skills, the programme is comprised of the following groups: an Under 14 Boys, an Under 14 Girls, two Under 16 Boys, and an Under 18 Men’s squad.

All five squads play out of the University of Essex’s state-of-the-art Essex Sport Arena at Wivenhoe in Essex.

Essex Rebels Hoopsters

Essex Rebels Hoopsters is our community outreach basketball programme that provides an effective vehicle through which personal and social development in young people can be positively affected. Specifically, the programme is focussed on introducing and developing basketball in the younger age groups (7-11yrs), and enhancing skills (basketball) and cardiorespiratory fitness in the older age groups (12-17yrs).

Our Mission

To facilitate basketball discovery, development, competition and elite opportunities for the youth in
Essex.

Our Vision

To be the premier junior basketball club in Essex through the facilitation of recreational and competitive
programmes focused on both skill and personal development.
