Paul Coote

Paul has become one of the clubs first coaches to come through our newly established coach development program and pathway.

Paul began his basketball journey playing in 1991 in his college league and was asked to join Colchester Hornets second team in the Essex league. After his first season, he was awarded the most improved player and was asked. to play for the first team. I then went on to play for Colchester Tigers also in the Essex league.

After having a few years out to raise his son with his wife he returned to a new team the Colchester Bulls & won the Suffolk league division two, making the playoff finals & winning a cup final. He still currently plays for Brightlingsea Cossacks in the local league.

His son has also taken an interest in the sport and for the last few seasons has led to Paul taking a real interest and passion for coaching and helping others. He has been a key volunteer helping out with the community sessions, U14’s team training & last season was honoured to be asked to be the U14’s Rebels team manager/assistant coach role working alongside the club head coach Dave Girling.

Training times: Mondays and Thursdays 6- 7pm
