Come along to one of the premier sports venues in the East of England, the Essex Sport Arena, to watch fast-paced, end-to-end, action-packed, top quality professional volleyball featuring the Essex Rebels stars. Each match day also features a range of performances and activities to keep the whole family entertained throughout your visit.


What to expect when you attend an Essex Rebels match

Food and drink

A range of hot and cold drinks (including a licenced bar), slush puppies, hot and cold snacks, cakes and confectionary are available from the Time Out bar throughout match day. Time Out also features views of the court, so that you need never miss any of the action.
Within only 5 minutes walk of all the action at the Essex Sport Arena is the fabulously appointed Wivenhoe House with its high quality menu offering British fare at its very best. Wivenhoe House is also renowned for its afternoon teas and fabulous alfresco dining experiences. So, whether it’s tiers of freshly made cakes, scones and sandwiches you’re after or a contemporary dining experience, Wivenhouse House has it covered.

Meet the Players

After the game, come down to courtside and meet the players. We have player photo sheets and player cards available at the merchandise stall, which you can take down to courtside to get signed by your favourite players.


Queen B, named after Boudicca, who led the Iceni Rebels to defeat the Romans at Colchester, entertains children and gets involved in on-court performances at games.


Our match day DJ keeps the crowd entertained with family-friendly music, as well as amusing sound effects during the game. Take part in our dance cam on the big screen!

Getting you here safely

Travelling to the Arena.

Car Parking at the Essex Sport Arena: Weekend and weekday evening on-site parking is free, and there are over 1000 spaces next to the Essex Sport Arena.

Train Travel: The Essex Sport Arena is located 2 miles from Hythe Station in Colchester, and 2 miles from Wivenhoe Station.

Bus Travel: Buses from Colchester, Wivenhoe, Brightlingsea, St Osyth, Clacton, Weeley and Frating stop at the University of Essex next to the Essex Sport Arena (South Courts bus stop).
