KYRON MARTIN SIGNS FOR REBELS
Essex Rebels are excited to announce the signing of Kyron Martin.
Hailing from London, Martin joins us from National Basketball League (NBL) side Solent Kestrels, making him the second player from Kestrels to join the Rebels following the recent announcement of new signing Elias Zain Poorman.
The 6’4’ swingman, who has the skillset to play as either a shooting guard or a small forward, featured in 15 NBL games last season, averaging 8.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, helping Kestrels to an eight placed finish in the league.
Martin enjoyed a successful four-year college career in the US playing for NCAA Division 2 team Washington Adventist Shock. Prior to this, Martin spent three years at St. Vincent Pallotti Panthers, and had a successful junior career in the UK, winning U16 and U18 titles with the Croydon Cougars.
Martin is another new signing that is known for his pinpoint shooting from the arc, shooting a 3-point percentage of 41.1%, the highest among the Kestrels team last season.
Discussing his signing with the Rebels and competing in the NBL again next season, Kyron Martin said,
“Hey Rebels Fans , I am very excited to be joining Essex for this upcoming season. I am grateful for the opportunity to play alongside this group of guys and play under coach Ross. I know that playing here will help my development as a player and I look forward to making a positive impact on the team, I can’t wait to see you all and get started!”
Martin becomes the Rebel’s fifth men’s new signing this summer, following the recent announcement of Ebuka Ekwegh joining the Rebels. Welcome to the Rebels Kyron!
