MOVEMBER FUNDRAISER
This November, the Essex Rebels are coming together to support men’s health.
In partnership with Movember UK, Movember Students and the University of Essex Movember Ambassadors, we’re hosting a special Movember Gameday to raise awareness of men’s mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
Through our university-wide fundraising campaign, we aim to make a difference by encouraging conversations, raising awareness and supporting the University of Essex Movember Fundraiser.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps support the wider Movember campaign and the vital work being done to improve men’s health.

MOVEMBER FUNDRAISER
Throughout November, all participating Essex Rebels teams will take part in a month-long fundraising challenge, with a collective target of £500.
For every £50 raised, a player from one of the participating teams will be nominated to complete a challenge. The results will be revealed during our Movember Gameday on Saturday 28 November.
From hilarious challenges to some unexpected surprises, the more we raise, the bigger the challenges become!
The challenges include:
- Ice Bucket Challenge
- Pie in the Face
- Egg Roulette
- Playing their sport in a Queen B costume
- Running a route in the shape of a moustache
- Leg Wax Challenge
- Singing a song to their coach
- And a few surprises along the way!
Who’s taking part?
Five Essex Rebels teams will be competing to raise funds and support the campaign including the Essex Rebels Women’s Basketball (SLB), Essex Rebels Men’s Basketball (BCB), Essex Rebels NBL Division 3 Men, Essex Rebels Women’s Volleyball and the Essex Rebels Men’s Volleyball

Join the Essex Rebels on Saturday 28 November 2026 at the University of Essex Sports Arena for a basketball Doubleheader, fundraising activities and a day dedicated to men’s health awareness.
GAME 1 — 4PM (Super league Basketball Women)
Essex Rebels Women vs B. Braun Sheffield Hatters
GAME 2 — 6:30 PM (British Championship Basketball)
Essex Rebels Men vs London Cavaliers
There’s plenty happening throughout the day, with activities designed to get everyone involved in the Movember campaign.
Expect a Moustache Competition, Moustache Cam, a University of Essex Dance Performance, fundraising updates and more.
