REBELS RELEASE TWO PLAYERS

February 10, 2021

The Essex Rebels have released two players that were part of the 2020/21 squad. Both players were already competing for a spot within the non National category.

Princes Adeogun, an Essex based student, was a part of the WBBL team last year that helped the Rebles to an 8th place finish before COVID forced the cancellation of the league. Adeogun has recently signed to play for the Solent Kestrals in Division 1 of the National League “ We wish Princes every success with her new team, this will be a great fit for her, and somewhere where she will have an opportunity to play and continue to develop”, says Head Coach Tom Sadler.

Irene Perez, also an Essex based student, has been released. Perez joined the Rebels after completing four year of junior college basketball in the US with Southern Nazarene University. Coach Sadler adds,“ Irene has a great attitude, and has been the ultimate professional during her time with us. She showed up to every practice with a great attitude and work ethic, and, like Adeogun, will be missed.”

The Rebels look to take on Durham this weekend on the road as they continue their WBBL championship campaign.
