HUDSON GOES INTO THIRD YEAR AS A REBEL
Essex Rebels welcome back Tyreese Hudson for another season as a Rebel.
The 22-year-old forward joined the Essex Rebels programme as an athlete-scholar in September 2021, having previously played for Team Solent Kestrels in NBL Division 2, and has combined playing with studying for his undergraduate degree at the University of Essex.
The athletic 6 foot 4 forward from the East Midlands took another step forward in his progression last year, averaging 6.0 points per game (compared to 4.0 ppg the previous season), and ended the season as the team’s most efficient scorer from the floor, boasting an impressive 61.3% from two-point range.
Hudson’s high energy and fast paced game has made him a fan-favourite with Rebels fans with some eye-catching dunks in key games that often lifted the Essex Sport Arena to their feet.
Looking forward to his third season with the Rebels, Tyreese Hudson said:
“I’m excited to continue my journey as a Rebel. In the last two years I’ve felt like we’ve just about been surviving in the league, but this upcoming season I know that we are ready to truly compete. We know our goals and what we want to achieve, so watch this space Rebels fans”
Ross Norfolk, coach of the Essex Rebels NBL Division 1 team, had this to say about Tyreese:
“We are excited to have Tyreese returning to the Rebels roster for the 23/24 season. Tyreese’s high energy and ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor is really going to benefit us this year. Welcome back Tyreese!”
Tyreese will be looking to make another positive contribution to the Essex Rebels in the upcoming season; we can’t wait to see what he will accomplish in his third year with the club.
