Her World Her Rules Clinic On International Women’s Day

Following the successful delivery of last year’s ‘Her World, Her Rules’ clinic, which saw over 150 young girls enjoy basketball, Essex Rebels will once again host a special clinic as part of their International Women’s Day celebrations on Saturday 7th March at the Essex Sport Arena from 1:15 – 2:45pm.

The 90-minute session will be led by former Essex Rebels player and University of Essex Sport Development Coordinator, Liv Partridge, alongside members of the Rebels women’s basketball team, offering girls aged 7–14 the chance to train with elite players and experience the excitement of the Rebels’ home court.

Delivered as part of the global FIBA ‘Her World, Her Rules’ initiative in partnership with Basketball England, the clinic celebrates International Women’s Day by empowering girls through basketball and reinforcing the message that the sport is for everyone.

Each participant will receive a free Her World, Her Rules t-shirt, and tickets to the Rebels’ game, helping to create a powerful connection between grassroots and elite basketball. By engaging directly with Rebels players, young athletes can see a clear pathway in the sport — proving that if you can see it, you can be it.

University of Essex Sport Development Coordinator Liv Partridge said: “This clinic is about creating opportunities. When girls step onto the court and see strong, talented Rebels players leading the session, it reinforces that there is a place for them in basketball. We want to break down barriers and make sure every girl feels confident to pick up a ball and give it a go.”
