Game Preview: Essex Rebels vs Bristol Flyers II

January 31, 2026

Saturday will see the Bristol Flyers visiting the Essex Sport Arena to take on the Rebels in British Championship Basketball action.

The Rebels will be looking to get back to winning ways having lost their last two league games after trips on the road to Newcastle Knights and the Derby Trailblazers.

Last time the two sides met, the Rebels came away from the west country with a commanding 78-60 victory.

Since then, the Flyers have struggled to make an impact in league action, with the Bristol side yet to record a win.

Player To Watch: Lanre Ayinla

Despite the Flyers’ challenging season, Ayinla has proven to be a bright spark for the visitors.

With a lot of defensive work to do, Ayinla has racked up 61 rebounds, with 33 turnovers and 14 steals so far in league action

If the Rebels want to win on their return to the Essex Sport Arena, they will have to find a way to beat Ayinla in transition. After scoring 23 fast break points against the Newcastle Knights last time out, Joe Hart’s side will be looking to continue their fast-paced play against the Flyers.

Ahead of the game, Joe Hart said:

“I think this weekend is going to be a tough one for everyone involved with the Rebels Program. We are going to go out there and compete as best we can.”
