Home to the Essex Rebels the Essex Sport Arena is a modular, state of the art facility that offers the perfect platform to host both sporting and non sporting events of all sizes.

The £12 million Essex Sport Arena is an innovative, multi-purpose space, available for sporting events, conferences, exhibitions, trade and craft shows and dance events. At its core the Arena is a highly versatile, multi purpose event space that can be configured to suit your exact requirements.

An exceptional space.
The main arena has 2,076m2 of floor space (60m x 34.6m) and seating for up to 1,655 people. It can be sub-divided into five separate spaces, giving full flexibility to suit your event. On the first floor there is a 150m2 (25m x 6m) function room, bar and lounge area, ideal for hosting drinks’ receptions and smaller meetings, and a glass fronted studio space over-looking the Arena.

Sports at the Arena.
The Essex Sport Arena is a competition and spectator venue, built to international sporting standards. It offers 20 courts, including basketball, volleyball, netball, badminton and futsal; with seating for up to 1,655 spectators. The Arena and entertainment areas can be hired for county, regional, national or international sporting competitions and training camps.
The main Arena is ideal for staging televised sporting events, offering a giant video entertainment screen, integrated sound system, LED lighting, and a performance analysis system, which can be used for live-streaming events in HD. Other features include a Dynamik sprung floor; height adjustable drop down and rollout basketball goals, international specification volleyball, netball and futsal equipment, and a customisable scoreboard.

Sports at the Arena.
If you’d like to add a drinks reception to your event, this can be hosted in one of our entertaining spaces on the first floor; either in our function room or in the bar and lounge area. A fully fitted kitchen and on-site catering is also available. The Arena is home to the Essex Rebels elite basketball and volleyball teams and the newly formed School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences.

Essex Rebels Doubleheader | Women vs Cardiff Met Archers & Men vs Milton Keynes Breakers
The Essex Rebels return to the Essex Sport Arena on Saturday, 28 February, for their first doubleheader in over a month.
The afternoon tips off with the Essex Rebels Women facing Cardiff Met Archers in the Super League Basketball Championship at 4 pm.The action continues into the evening as the Essex Rebels Men take on Milton Keynes, a fierce competitor currently sitting third in the British Championship Basketball, with tip-off at 6:30pm.
