Essex Rebels Announce First New Signing for 2025/26 Season: Remy Udeh
The Essex Rebels are excited to announce their first new addition for the upcoming 2025/26 season, welcoming 20-year-old guard Remy Udeh to the roster.
The North London native joins the Rebels for the inaugural British Championship Basketball (BCB) season after spending the past two years competing in the Super League Basketball (SLB) with the London Lions.
At 6’6”, Udeh brings versatility and athleticism to the Rebels lineup, with the ability to score at all three levels while also defending multiple positions. His high-energy style of play, combined with strong defensive instincts, makes him a dynamic presence on both ends of the floor.
Udeh’s basketball journey began at age 12 with the Islington Panthers, where he quickly stood out. During the 2022/23 season, he suited up for the Panthers’ NBL Division 3 Men’s Team before continuing his development through the New City College (NCC) and London Lions partnership. In 2023/24, Udeh represented NCC and made his professional debut with the Lions.
In 2024, Udeh won the British Basketball League (BBL) Playoff title with the London Lions before the league rebranded as the Super League Basketball (SLB). That same summer, he showcased his talent at the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic, winning the Dunk Contest and putting his athleticism on display in front of a packed Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London.
On joining the Essex Rebels, Remy Udeh shared his excitement:
“I’m very excited to be joining the Essex Rebels ahead of this historic first season in the BCB. To be part of a club with big ambitions is an amazing opportunity and I’m eager to contribute both on and off the court. I have high aspirations for what we can achieve together this season, and I’m excited to get to work with my teammates and coaches to make a real impact.”
Essex Rebels Head Coach Joe Hart added:
“I’m really looking forward to working with Remy this season. He’s a young player with huge potential, and I’m excited to be part of his journey as he continues to grow and make his mark on the British game.”
With Udeh now on board, the Essex Rebels continue to build a roster ready to compete at the highest level in the club’s first-ever BCB season.
