Brooke Flowers Named in the 2024/25 SLBW Molten Defensive Team of the Year 

As the season draws to a close, the SLBW has announced its annual awards — and Essex Rebels centre Brooke Flowers has earned a standout honour. In her debut SLBW season, Flowers has been named to the 2024/25 SLBW Molten Defensive Team of the Year. 

Standing at 6’5”, Flowers made an immediate impact on the Rebels Women’s team, establishing herself as a dominant force on the defensive end. She led the entire league in shot blocking, averaging an impressive 2.8 blocks per game — a full 1.3 blocks ahead of the next closest player. Flowers also ranked fifth in the league in total rebounds, averaging 9.7 per game, and fifth in defensive rebounds with 6.7 per game. 

These numbers highlight not only her dominance in the paint but also her consistent presence as the Rebels’ defensive anchor. Her ability to alter shots, protect the rim, and control the boards proved vital for the team throughout the season. 

A fantastic achievement for Brooke, and one that highlights her strength, presence, and impact on the defensive end throughout the season.
