The Essex Rebels players and local Police officers give young people the chance to play basketball with police officers, building positive relationships through basketball.

Essex Rebels have teamed up with the Essex Police to deliver FREE basketball sessions for children and young people across Colchester. These sessions are designed for participants to find out about the sport, sharpen their basketball skills, have fun with friends, and interact positively with local police officers – all in a safe, inclusive environment.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex, we will be returning for our 5th summer of Ballin’ with a Bobby (BWAB) starting from 3rd June 2025.
