Alexa Mikeska Joins the Essex Rebels

Essex Rebels are delighted to announce the signing of Alexa Mikeska for the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season.

Alexa Mikeska is a talented guard from Carlsbad, California, who is expected to bring her talent to the Rebels this season.

Mikeska’s success as a guard began in high school, where she played for Carlsbad High School’s basketball team, competing in Division 1 of the San Diego Section.

At Carlsbad, she set eight school records, including career games played at 118 and total career points at 1,426, making her the only player in San Diego history to achieve over 1,400 points.

Following her success at high school, Mikeska moved to Virginia to attend the College of William & Mary, where she played Division 1 basketball for the William & Mary Tribe.

She made her college debut in 2022 and quickly established herself as an important contributor, starting 23 of 30 games during her freshman season and earning CAA Rookie of the Week honours.

Mikeska continued to develop throughout her college career, making 25 starts in her sophomore season and recording her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Delaware. Her junior season was interrupted by injury, but she returned strongly for her senior year in 2025/26.

During her final season, Mikeska started all 31 games, leading the Tribe with 110 assists, which ranked fourth in the CAA. She also recorded 60 steals, 153 rebounds and averaged 6.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Her performances helped her finish third in the conference for assist-to-turnover ratio.

Mikeska was also recognised academically, earning CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll recognition and the W&M Provost Award.

The Rebels are excited to have Alexa on the roster this season and can’t wait to see her in her first game this Saturday on the road against Caledonia Gladiators.
