Rebels Welcome Playmaker Tre Baumgardner III
Essex Rebels are excited to announce the signing of Tre Baumgardner III, welcoming the 6′1” guard to the team ahead of the 2026/27 British Championship Basketball season.
Baumgardner spent the 2022/23 and 2024/25 seasons with the Malone Pioneers at Malone University in Ohio, competing in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
In 2025, Baumgardner helped Malone secure the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship against Cedarville University.
Baumgardner played a pivotal role in the championship game, scoring a team-high 25 points. He was also considered the team’s most successful rebounder throughout the G-MAC Tournament. His performance earned him the honour of being named to the G-MAC All-Tournament Team alongside two of his teammates.
In 2026, the Malone Pioneers announced their pride in alumnus Tre Baumgardner after he signed a professional contract with Basquet Costa Sud in Tres Arroyos, Argentina.
Baumgardner quickly established himself as a standout player in Argentina, averaging an impressive 28 points, 5 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. His performances made him a key player for Costa Sud and showcased his scoring ability and playmaking skills at the professional level.
Baumgardner is a dynamic playmaker who will look to make a vital impact for the Rebels this season. Speaking about his move to the Rebels, he said:
I’m grateful and blessed to be joining the Rebels for this upcoming season! I’m ready to compete with my teammates and help to do whatever to win. Excited to get stared and give the fans great basketball to watch this year!
Diana Voynova, Essex Rebels Manager is delighted to welcome Tre to the team:
