Essex Local Harry Gent Signs with the Rebels
Essex Rebels are delighted to announce that talented centre Harry Gent has joined the Rebels ahead of the upcoming 2025/2026 campaign.
Coming in at 6’8, the Rebels will be looking to Gent to provide much-needed verticality and physicality within the paint.
A product of the Ipswich Basketball Academy, the 22 year old spent three years in East Anglia before spending the 2021/2022 season with College Basket in Italy.
Following his time overseas, Gent returned back to the United Kingdom, with a stint at Barking Abbey.
Last season saw Gent return to playing overseas, where he helped the Sligo All-Stars reach the Irish Super League play-offs.
Born in Latchingdon, Gent is excited to represent his home county:
“I’m looking forward to competing in the newly founded BCB and continuing to grow as a basketball player during the 2025/26 season. I’m excited to grow as a player, learn from my teammates and coaches, and contribute wherever I can to help the team succeed.”
Speaking ahead of Gent’s arrival, Head Coach Joe Hart said:
“Excited to be working with Harry this upcoming season, he’s going to bring a unique skill set to the team. It’s great to be able to have another local Essex guy on the team!”
