Junior Basketball Club update

October 24, 2020

Dear members,

Essex Rebels Junior Basketball Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Payne as the new Under 14 Boys Team Coach, Paul Coote as the new Under 16 Boys II Team Coach, and Tom Sadler as the Under 18 Men’s interim Team Coach.

Tom Payne succeeds Dave Girling who took temporary charge of the team back in November 2019 when the club first embarked on its search for a locally based Team Coach. Dave will now revert to his primary role as Head Coach.

Paul Coote, on the other hand, succeeds Courtney Grant-Allen who successfully completed his studies (in Sports Science) at the University of Essex and is currently undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at Brunel University.

Finally, Tom Sadler, the club’s current CEO, will take temporary charge of the Under 18 Men’s team while the club looks to secure a new Team Coach over the coming weeks. Tom succeeds John Ellis who stepped
down earlier this week following changes in his personal circumstances.

Thus, the club would like to congratulate Tom Payne and Paul Coote on their appointments. Their knowledge of UK junior basketball and their varied basketball skill sets significantly strengthens the capabilities of the core staff team and make them ideally placed to contribute to the club’s strategic objectives.

Equally, the club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to John Ellis and Courtney Grant-Allen
for their tireless contribution to the development of their teams. Like a candle, and during their entire tenure with the club, both individuals consumed themselves to light the path for the kids. Thus, for this,
and much more besides, the club is truly grateful.

The following information is disclosed pursuant to Sections 8.4 and 9.5 of the club’s constitution: Tom Payne and Paul Coote do not hold additional positions within the club, nor do they hold any directorships in any of the club’s current crop of service providers, and have not done so in the past 5 years.

Finally, and following the appointments, please find attached an updated copy of the club’s Organisational Chart for your records. Please delete any previous copies of the document. Thank you.

Kindest regards

Rob Angira
Club Director
