Rebels Women Sign SEC Point Guard Lauren Park-Lane
Essex Rebels Women have significantly boosted their backcourt with the signing of elite point guard Lauren Park-Lane for the 2024-25 SLBW season.
Park-Lane, a 5-foot-3 dynamo from Wilmington, Delaware, joins the Rebels fresh off a record-breaking NCAA Division I career that saw her emerge as one of the most prolific playmakers in recent college basketball history.
The 23-year-old was one of only three players to rank in the top-eight for total assists in each of the last three seasons, joining the illustrious company of Iowa’s Caitlin Clark and Colorado State’s McKenna Hofschild, underscoring the calibre of talent the Rebels have secured.
Park-Lane comes to Essex following a stellar final collegiate season with Mississippi State Bulldogs, where she etched her name in the record books. She set a single-season assist record with 213 dimes, surpassing the previous mark of 202. She also averaged 9.2 points, 6.1 assists, and 2.8 rebounds in 31.8 minutes per game.
Her collegiate journey is nothing short of remarkable. Park-Lane finished her NCAA career with 2,226 points and 911 assists, joining an elite group of just five players in NCAA Women’s Basketball history to reach both milestones.
Before transferring to Mississippi State for her final year, Park-Lane starred at Seton Hall Pirates. There, she was a three-time All-BIG EAST First Team performer and led the nation in total assists (260) during the 2021-22 season.
Park-Lane’s list of accolades is extensive, including being named the 2021-22 NCAA Assist Leader and setting the Mississippi State single-season assist record with 213 dimes. Her exceptional talent also put her on the radar as a WNBA Draft prospect for 2024.
On joining the Rebels, Lauren Park-Lane shared her excitement:
“I’m so excited to be in this league for my first pro year and I am ready to compete at a high level with the Rebels!”
This move follows the recent acquisition of standout guard Taylor O’Brien, signalling the Rebels’ intent to make a significant impact in the upcoming SLBW season,
